March 5, 2019 marks the 56th anniversary of the “Learn from Lei Feng Day”. On the same day in the spring drizzling, Party member volunteers from the 1st Party Branch shipped some 300 choice books to Yuexiu Seniors’ Service Center, bringing mental nourishment for the elderly, including Xi Jinping: the Governance of China, and other books about literature, history and health-keeping, etc. Dating back to 2015, this Branch helped the Center open its Charity Reading Room; since then offering close service for the elderly.
Party members carried bunch of books upstairs and soon finished the shelving. Then the Center Head, Chen Huimin, expressed deep thanks and introduced its recent activities; the Branch Secretary, Guo Kewen, also introduced the Library’s Sensors’ Club, and both sides hope to deepen cooperation so as to better serve the elderly with fine cultural services.
Following President Xi’s important instructions on “Learn from Lei Feng”, we, especially Party member volunteers, will definitely continue our effort in shinning Lei Feng Spirit in the new age.
