May 21, 2017 is the 27th National Day for the Disabled Persons. At 9:00 A.M., May 19, the 7th Guangdong Poetry and Essay Recitation for the Blind and the 3rd Guangdong Essay Writing Competition for the Blind Award Ceremony was held at Lecture Hall 1 of the Library. The event was co-hosted by Guangdong Provincial Department of Culture and Guangdong Disabled Persons’ Federation, and co-organized by Sun Yat-sen Library of Guangdong Province, Guangdong Association of the Blind, and Library Society Guangdong. It was a major event listed among the program of 2017 “A Reading Guangdong, A Wonderful Life” Guangdong Reading Promotion Events, and an important part in the 7th Guangdong Cultural Festival for the Disabled, as well as a great cultural event for the blind in Guangdong. It was made live to public libraries across the Province, and for the first time has been brought live to over 50,000 people via a network service provider, NetEase, thus making itself more well-received among the public.
